Kris McCusker, Professor of History, Middle Tennessee State University.

Kristine M. McCusker holds a Ph.D. in History, Ethnomusicology and Folklore from Indiana University. She is the author of Lonesome Cowgirls and Honky-Tonk Angels: The Women of Barn Dance Radio (Illinois, 2008) as well as multiple articles and chapters. She is also the co-editor of A Boy Named Sue: Gender and Country Music (Mississippi, 2004). A second co-edited volume, entitled A Boy Named Sue, Too is now being compiled. Her current work is a NIH-funded study of Southern death rituals, entitled Just Enough to Put Him Away Decent.
