Biographical sketch:

On his bookplate found in two of these volumes John Good described himself as a "teacher of zither, 8800 Court Street, Cincinnati [Ohio]".

Scope and content:

Four holograph volumes of music for the zither. Two volumes were dated 6 October 1875 and 9 June 1881 in what appears to be Good's handwriting. These two volumes are described in the same hand on the front covers as Volume 1 and Volume 3. The remaining volumes have been dated in pencil in another hand as 1875 and 1880; these have been filed as volumes 2 and 4.
